All the fees for 2004 have been paid. The same applies to 2005 with the exception of Italy and Sweden. Reminders shall be sent shortly by the treasurer.

A deposit account has been opened in September and the deposit reaches 27 503.84 Euros. 2.500 Euros are left on the current account in order to cover the current expenses.

3 – Progress of the work

3.1 – News letter: A. Krohn

2 letters have already been published in 2005.

Preparation of the 3d News Letter of 2005:

Articles of presentation were planned from Italy and Germany but they have not been received so far. L.Tirelli shall send a reminder to Italy but it seems unlikely that an answer shall be received in time. W.Sihorsch shall prepare a note of presentation from Germany for this 3d letter, before the end of the year.

For 2006, Cyprus and Denmark shall make a presentation of their association and activities for the 1st letter of 2006 (February), France for the 2d (June) and Ireland for the 3d (September)

3.2 – Internet Site:

Switzerland has accepted to act as the Webmaster for the CEDIA site from the 1st of January 2006. L.Tirelli is available to transfer any information that may be required by H.Schmidt for the undertaking of the function.

A note on the statistics of the visit of the site shall be prepared for the next News Letter.

3.3 – Employment Services Meeting All

Minutes, comments, follow up of actions. H.Schmid

Most of the associations have sent the document about the “Registration of the data for the CEDIA” but none has been preparing a note comparable to the document from France describing the services offered by their association as it was requested in the conclusions of the meeting in Baar.

Ireland (EIRE and North Ireland) is going to hold a conference on the 23d of February in Armagh about the requirements of the Permanent Education in for the graduates in Agriculture. The exact theme shall be: Metamorphosis of the Professionalism in Agriculture.

CEDIA is requested by S.Gaule if it could make a presentation of 15 to 20 minutes about the CEDIA and its Employment Services.

W.Sihorsh proposes that every association provides a paper on the trends of the jobs of agronomists in their country.

3.4 - REPER meetings

The Portuguese REPER has been met by A.Krohn and L.Tirelli. On the side of the Portuguese representation, Mrs Salazar and Mr Leite gave information on several topics that were discussed:

  • Professional mobility within Europe.

In theory the acceptance of a diploma is automatic, including in Portugal, providing the equivalence of diploma is established. In the EU Commission, the program EURES is a data base concerning the mobility within the EU.

Other sites provide information for jobs and jobs application within the Commission: PHARE and TACIS are the main ones but in every Direction, there is a page called “Useful links” that contains all the information about the different sites, including the agencies like EFSA, depending from the Direction consulted.

The Directions of interest for the Agronomists are of course the Direction of Agriculture but information may be found in the site of the Direction of External relations and the site RELEX.

The Associations are requested to identify the REPER of their countries and the persons of interest for us in order to organise future meetings in Brussels.

4 – Preparation of the annual conference All

4.1 - Follow up of the decisions of the last Board Meeting

This subject was not discussed

4.2 - Relations with third parties: Follow up All

ICA: shall be contacted shortly by the President.

European Commission: see above the action requested about the REPER.

5 – Miscellaneous

5.1 - Designation of the Administrators by their Associations All

Letters of designation have been received from all the countries except Sweden. It is impossible to have a contact with D.Karlson or the Swedish association despite repeated messages sent by the G.S.

5.2 – CEDIA labelled papers (letters, etc.)

The headed paper shall be modified as with the latest versions of Windows it does not work properly, probably due to the logo that is too heavy on the memory.

A.Krohn has proposed to check it and introduce the adequate modifications.

5.3 – Others

Next meeting: the next Board Meeting and the next General Assembly shall be held in Limassol (Cyprus) the 29th of April.

The Employment Services of the associations are invited to participate in the Symposium in Ireland. It is planned that a working meeting shall take place afterward in order to evaluate the contribution of the Irish Symposium to the activity of the CEDIA Associations.
